This print and * Volpato after Raphael The School of Athens {by 1894} Loc? [PR] were both based on well-known frescoes from Raphael’s Vatican Stanze (this one reproducing the fresco in the Stanza di Eliodoro, 1514).

Another engraving by Volpato, after the Delphic Sibyl from Michelangelo’s Sistine Ceiling, was acquired for the NGV in 1928.
