Marshall, R.A.K. [Roberto Angelo Kwittermaster] (1849-1902; English)
A Bit of Devonshire 1887
Watercolour, gum arabic and scratching out, 68.8 x 53.3 cm (sheet)
Bequest of Alfred Felton, 1904
National Gallery of Victoria (153-2)
This watercolour is another example of Felton’s taste for conventionally picturesque English landscapes: see comments under Cook Near Arundel 1882 {1904} NGV [WT].
It also appears to be typical of the output of Marshall.
