Le Pautre was a highly productive engraver known especially for his plates of French Baroque architectural decoration. The two sets of engravings in the pre-Felton NGV (both part of the 1879 Levey gift) comprised documentation of festivities staged at Versailles in 1668 and 1674 respectively.
