Arthur Melhuish (1829-95) appears to have been the major figure in the partnership he formed in London with Thomas McLean and Robert Napper, which ran from 1859 until Napper left in 1861 and the others were joined by Frank Haes (1833-1916). Prince Albert was Melhuish’s patron in the late 1850s.
