This work and * Meldrum Study from the Nude {1902} Loc? [PA] both appear to have been acquired under the terms of the artist’s NGV Travelling Scholarship (awarded in 1899). Both appear in the NGV’s unpublished list of pre-1905 acquisitions, but neither seems to be in the collection now.

Further research may uncover information about Meldrum’s copy and his source.
